Some of the projects were positively life-changing for the young people involved; these were a joy to be part of. Plenty of variety within the workload. Multi-talented and dedicated (and lovely) creative team and admin staff.

Svantaggi

Shambolic, uncommunicative management. Unnecessarily harsh, often caustic, feedback from management with obscure and arbitrary suggestions for improvement. Poor levels of pay that were inconsistent within and across departments. Rock-bottom staff morale (still the case, I’m told). High staff turn over. Upper management being hired then leaving abruptly. Unrealistic expectations placed on creative producers, especially after cutbacks and the recent redundancies.

Meeting people from all walks of life and hearing their inspirational stories. Making a difference to peoples lives and giving them a creative ouput to campaign on various issues. Working with talented creative individuals

Poorly managed company. Top management have little respect for staff who are expected to complete projects in unrealistic time frames. Little regard and understanding of the time it takes to create media. Poor salary for staff members. Higher management salaries are unproportional to other staff levels and are not reflective of the tasks and job role. Creative staff are expected to travel the length and breadth of the country to undertake duties withvery little disregard for their work/life balance and welfare.
