Vantaggi

The first few months I was full of excitement, the opportunity to work with some of the industry's best on a new mode of transportation. I was glad to make some long-lasting connections and learn from some of the best.

Svantaggi

When I started morale was high and everyone was willing to help. Employees often rewarded each other through the use of bonusly which gave us a high-energy feel good atmosphere. The fairytale quickly turned sour, the market flipped and the rocket ship ran out of gas. senior leadership forces us to say we are a tech company when indeed we are a brokerage which made us susceptible to the volatile market. Our solution is limited and we quickly learned we were not able to pivot as needed. The CEO would constantly go off-topic during our all-hands without failing to mention he is Uber wealthy and even though he is well off, still chooses to work stating he does not believe in a work/life balance and that we should share the same mentality. In the last few months, things got worse, he would constantly blame everyone for not hitting expectations and threatening layoffs. We would constantly bring in opportunities but failed to be competitive due to our own limitations and model. When it comes to Senior leadership, the firm was able to recruit good talent minus a few. Some directors would gloat about taking clients out to playoff games, fine dining, and nightclubs all on the company's dime, Securing the same reward other leaders would do by just doing a presentation. I understand that politics and favoritism will always exist but leadership had the tendency to give the females we had in sales awarded business from past sellers increasing their commission dramatically when other sellers were more deserving or helped close the account. VC Funding The misuse of funds was grotesque! In this market, the company should have been more conservative. Leasing 2 floors in Chicago when we could not fill the first floor was wild. Spending hundreds of dollars on shirts with a Rhino who had nothing to do with our model is not the smartest move. We spent god knows how much on a rebranding campaign and hiring a new marketing team that succeeded in creating some funny ads but failed to tell the world what we actually do. I would constantly made calls to prospects that mentioned our ad was funny but didn't know what we did. The prospects were not enticed to reach out. Our technology needs work, and plenty of opportunities that fail when we are only relying on it, give the operations team a chance to develop carrier relationships and secure some wins

Vantaggi

There’s a ton of room to take on new responsibilities, influence work, and develop professionally. If you’re proactive, the company really rewards it.

Svantaggi

The company moves quickly, which is exciting but can feel overwhelming at times.

Vantaggi

-I worked with many hardworking, supportive teammates who made difficult days more manageable. -The fast-paced environment helps develop strong multitasking and communication skills - The company’s technology is interesting and has the potential to improve the freight industry (but not completely change it)

Svantaggi

- Compensation became increasingly frustrating. Multiple changes to the compensation structure made it difficult to trust that strong performance would be rewarded fairly. - Work-life balance was very poor. Long hours and the expectation to be available outside normal business hours made it difficult to maintain a healthy balance (weekends, holidays, mandatory on-call weekends and nights which are all unpaid) - Employee morale suffered as compensation, benefits, and incentives changed over time. 401k match taken away, holidays taken away, PTO was completely around their needs even if planned well ahead of time (sometimes won’t even be approved until a couple weeks ahead of time. How does one plan any time away when we can’t get anything approved, even with our “supposed” unlimited or set amount of days?). - High expectations and heavy workloads often felt disconnected from the rewards provided to employees - Advancement opportunities and long-term career paths were not clear and rarely available - Leadership decisions sometimes felt disconnected from the realities faced by frontline employees managing customers and carriers every day - The company culture increasingly shifted toward hitting metrics at all costs rather than focusing on employee development and retention
