- Obsolete middle management - they don't care about your development or well being, they just care about looking good in front of upper management. Lack of knowledge is obvious at this level as technical requests are put in without any idea if anybody on the team they are managing has the necessary skills to fulfill them. Cowboy mentality. If anything goes wrong it's your fault not theirs - Toxic environment - teams work in silos and treat other teams like dirt - Even if you excel and go beyond your duties your annual raise will be 1% - Requests for personal development and budget for learning new skills go unanswered or get a "there is no budget for that" answer - Communication is subpar and middle management will talk to you only when there is some urgent request from upper management
