Vantaggi
I've been with FoodState for nearly five years, and while it hasn't always been perfect, the company is incredible to work for. As it's been growing, they have put so much emphasis on culture and taking care of the employees, which I think is so smart. Whether it is fun outings, health and wellness initiatives (events, gym membership reimbursement, on-site massage, smoking cessation program, CSA reimbursement, paid time off to volunteer...), or individual employee development, they make you feel valued. Coming to work is never a challenge - I align with the company values, and am made to feel like I matter. I enjoy being here each day. The benefits are really fantastic, especially for a company this size, and continue to get better each year. When I tell people about my job, and the benefits it comes with, they always ask how they can work here too. I enjoy change and challenge, so being at a growing company that is still working to really do it right, and be a pioneer in their space, is a blast. If you don't like change and a fast-pace, it may not be for you. They also work really hard to hire the right people, and it shows. I feel like with each new hire, we improve. I value a company that will wait for the right candidate rather than rushing to fill a seat. I feel like I could gush forever, because I really do love it here, and am so proud that I work for a company that just gets it. I spent several years in the natural product industry before coming to this company, and think it's really the best out there.
Svantaggi
FoodState is growing, and with it come growing pains. Communication between departments continues to improve, and because the leadership is so open, when things aren't working quite right, it's easy to voice your concern and be heard. Sometimes things move a little slowly, but I think it's because they take so much care to get it right the first time. It's often worth the wait.
