The majority of the projects are short and lack breath and ambition. Most of the activities on the research side involve solely testing third party applications, mostly for the finance sector and there is limited opportunity to innovate. Promotions and bonuses are decided more on personal relationship than on merits and achievements. The middle management is heavy and not always able to cope.
