Foothills gateway is were good staff go to burn out. Many of the violent behavioral issues that you will run into are avoidable or at least would be if management would listen to you. Upper management takes things very personally and will hold a grudge if they hear you say anything negative about the company. Even constructive criticism. The other issue that I think a lot of people don't realize Is that they take on a lot of difficult clients and then do not staff it right. Often you will find yourself in violent behavioral situations under high stress and are very likely to burn out. They are a non profit but they do not behave as one the general feeling of most people that quit FGI is that they mostly just care about the money and not the client so much . Now this is not to say that there are not staff there that care about the clients because there are ,but upper management is completely disconnected and the people that turn the wheels are often the ones that get screwed. They also very closely monitor all incident reports and change them as they see fit. Also as an employee there should you decide to quit and move on you have to be very careful about what you say on your exit interview because they will use that against you and label you is Not eligible for re hire. Another thing that they do Is if you give your notice and they feel that you have negative feelings towards the company in any way they will except youresignation early even when you've put in 2 weeks to a months notice regardless Of whether the area that you're working in a area that is short staffed creating an unsafe situation. They have also fought tooth and nail to avoid conflict free case management, though it is something they have to adhere to now in the past they have avoided separating their case management from direct care services. this is accepted everywhere else in the state of Colorado and in the nation. It is a conflict of interest, you simply have to offer case management outside of your agency, they do not want to. To say that I am bitter about how things went for me in this company would be an understatement I gave an entire month's notice and worked at a place that I was unhappy only to be told that I am now not eligible for re hire. I have many years of experience working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities I would highly suggest that if you can you seek employment somewhere else. They look good on paper but do not adhere to best practices. I am only glad that I myself am not reciving services from them.
