Decent pay for the State. Good vacation time.

Bad management from senior management down. Hierarchical structure. Promote people because they did a "good job" not because they are leaders. "Outsiders" aren't welcome. Unable to transform because so set in ways dating back to the 80s. Too many people fixated on their own length of tenure vs the health of the company. Best people leave after 2 years. CEO who has zero exec presence.

Pretty easy job, low stress, good work life balance, nice people. If you just want a place where you can maintain a stable career, with decent pay, and a good work life balance, you could do much worse than Ford.

Terrible leadership decisions. ADAS got wrecked over the past 2 years. Most of the talented engineers that I knew have moved on. Part was intentional attrition via return to office mandates and the rest was just the fact that the talented folks who could easily get new jobs got frustrated enough to leave. If you're interested in deep technical work related to autonomy, robotics, ADAS, etc - Ford is not the place you want to be. All of the interesting work has been moved to Latitude, Ford ADAS is mostly just supplier management now.
