Svantaggi
I was miss sold on what the role was going to be when I started. I started working with no real structure or organisation which then had a knock-on effect on my work. The communication between different departments was very poor, which in my role as an account manager, resulted in my initial phone calls with clients being poor and ill-informed. I had to ask whether they were still exhibiting which obviously come across as unprofessional and disorganised. The staff retention is very poor, I personally observed the sales team being berated and bullied, they seemed to only employ young people as they were easily manipulated and weren't likely to stand up for themselves. There was a definite sense of favouritism among staff members which wasn't professional. There were unachievable KPI's and being an account manager, having these implemented in the role is not achievable when nurturing and building relationships with clients. After a C-level officer was fired, they began to build some actual structure and training on how to work the role properly and effectively. But that was too little too late as I was fired on my first day of training, approximately 10 mins after the second person to have a seizure from the sales team collapsed from the pressure of trying to hit the unachievable Christmas target.
