Constant cost-cutting and a 'skeleton crew' approach mean roles are sometimes not backfilled. This leads to unsustainable workloads and high stress for the remaining staff, especially management. Promotions often feel based on favoritism rather than merit. This has led to some incompetence in leadership/office roles, as the best people aren't always the ones getting the move up. There is a heavy 'yes-man' culture where performative flattery is sometimes prioritized over merit. The environment can be highly political, with some staff (including leadership) resorting to back-stabbing and misinformation to undermine colleagues. Management overlooks this behavior, leading to a lack of trust across the office.
