Vantaggi
You are it at FSI. What happens comes down to you. If you've ever wanted to change the world one project at a time, this is where you get to do it. You are the person who is going to get it done. It is a great place to get your foot in the door.
Svantaggi
My pay was good, but some engineers are paid on the low side of the industry average. There are 0 opportunities for advancement in the company. Several times I put someone in for accolades or a promotion and though I was always assured that it would be acted on, it never was. There was a lack of support on all levels. Need some help on a task/meeting a deadline? Tough luck. Having trouble dealing with a colleague or subcontractor? No one is there to deal with it. There was an extremely high turnover for project managers. Some massive egos and favoritism in the higher levels of project management as well. The culture of chain-of-command also made it extremely difficult to do a good job on a holistic level. Information seemed to reach the employees last, and last-minute directives that caused massive problems were extremely common. Blame was misattributed constantly.
