Management (a particular manager) who at the interview claimed to be understanding was exactly the opposite. Upon getting Covid on the 3rd day of the job (for the first time ever and it hit me hard), unfortunately I was off work. I was anxious to impress in my new job and tried to work from home later on in the second week. By 2pm I couldn't think, my cognitive function was severly impacted. I continued with time off. Their attitude changed towards me. I tried to return to work, asking for a couple of half days to ease myself in gently but I was bluntly refused. I was invited to 'employment review' to 'help' me and brought my Union rep with me. It soon became apparent that they wanted to use this to sack me, which they did.
