Vantaggi
Breakfast/lunch/flexible with schedules/good bonus if you work the system
Svantaggi
I was at freerateupdate for almost a year. During my time there at first was great. I made good money with the bonus, along with the salary. At the end of my time there they decided to make it harder to reach the bonus to the point where I was not taking lunch and staying late every night just to make money. Along with them making the quota higher they decided that they would make a room "the hot room" BEWARE OF THIS ROOM INTERVIEWES! The manager mentions nothing about this room during your interview so make sure you ask about the room that you read on this post. Like I said they made a room with 8 cubicles in it that used to be a stoarage closet. In the room there is a fake camera, and a sign on the door that says no cell phones aloud. It's so Jammed pack in this room that it's hard to hear customers when you are talking on the phone. This room is basically a room that they put you in to FAIL so they can eventually fire you. It's very degrading and it doesn't make you feel part of the team. LIKE I SAID when the company hires they mention nothing about this room. Ask him questions about it, and also ask questions regarding if the Quota changes constantly (which it does which makes it hard to plan vacations and also pay bills) If you are going for a position in customer service just be aware that the position is a JOB not a CAREER, there is no room for growth in the company and they won't move you around aka sales. They treat sales like gold in the company, to the point where they treat customer service like they are at the lower end of the spectrum. (Esp when it comes to pay) A handful of reasons why I left were the ones that I mentioned, no growth and the disrespect to customer service. They try to balance it out with feeding us every Thursday and Friday (which is super nice if you like to gain weight) Other than the reasons why I left I really enjoyed my time at the company. I was treated well because I was well liked, but if you aren't liked be prepared to be fired. To the operations manager, you do great at what you do and we needed you as an addition to the company but please keep customer service in consideration when making decisions. Keep in mind before working with the company that some things that are going on are very unethical. If you are well liked and good at making money for the company you will do fine. If you are th type of person who wants a work life balance, and someone who doesn't want to be constantly stressed about numbers and how much you will be bringing in month to month this position isn't for you. I hope my info helps someone who is looking to become a part of the company.
