Vantaggi
Very nice location at the heart of Toronto with easy access to public transportation, depending on the department and your relationship with the manager, there could be some autonomy in the work you do.
Svantaggi
No professional growth options, no one-on-ones meetings and the ones held usually end with a negative outlook, no appreciation for employees' work or concern for their needs. Direct managers suffer to an extent from micro-management mindsets. Senior management seems to be disconnected from employees and their needs while they're focused on their own sales and quarterly targets/performance rather than employee empowerment. Often heard in town-hall meetings their drive and focus on customers but rarely do they have the same drive for employees. A lot of negative interdepartmental rivalries and much politics get in the way of work. Communication skills of mid-management and direct line managers is very poor and trust scores are very low. No one seems to abide by the culture values set out by management, not even mid-management themselves although senior management appear to be better at this than mid/direct management tiers.
