Vantaggi

I met some of the most amazing people here and luckily those people are who I spent most of my day with. The mission and point of Fullstack can be very fulfilling. Grace Hopper, deferred tuition and WDF are amazing.

Svantaggi

- PTO is 5 days plus 2 weeks at year end, which is very unreasonable in terms of how much people work every day every other week of the year. - 9-6 is often not the only amount of time you are expected to work. - Broey culture is increasing and seems to be supported by execs. - Underrepresented groups often have to get white men to echo their issues before their is anything done (even if all minority people speak up for themselves). - If you raise issues you can become a pariah if you are in an underrepresented group. - Male dominance in leadership. The one woman leading a group (career success) doesn't get the same title. Concerns of discrimination are present. - It is very concerning that the school has Grace Hopper and WDF when they don't seem to actually support those people / values internally. - Management is untrained and very poor in terms of giving feedback (positive or negative), organization and goal setting. - Metrics people are measured on are often opposing other groups (e.g. class size vs rate of job acquisition after graduation) and not clearly described to people anyways. - It seems that large class sizes are what Fullstack is pushing for and moving towards, which strains everyone and often lowers the quality of graduates.

Hi - I lead People Ops @ Fullstack Academy. Thanks for your feedback. We really appreciate your candid review and sharing your experience with other job seekers. We recognize that we aren’t perfect, and it’s feedback like this that’s helping us to move forward and make changes. In 2018, for example, 60% of our new hires have been individuals from under-represented communities in tech. In fact, 60% of internal promotions since our inception have gone to Fullstaffers from underrepresented communities in tech. And we want both our new Fullstaffers and any future candidates to feel comfortable here at Fullstack, so please know this feedback will absolutely be shared with our leadership team. As for your more organizational points, we are a quickly-growing start-up, so there will always be growing pains. The more established we become, the more we’re working to put clear, sensible metrics and policies in place and to make sure our staffing keeps up with increased demand for our program. We appreciate your giving so much of yourself to our students and staff during your tenure, and wish you all the best in your next step post-Fullstack. --Dan Schneider, People Ops Lead @ Fullstack Academy
