Before starting the process, friends had warned me, one even works at Funda that the HR representative could be difficult to deal with. I decided to proceed anyway. I completed the HR, technical, and manager interviews, but from the first one, I sensed something was off. The company appeared to be divided into silos, with individuals already owning certain areas. When someone with strong knowledge and a confident personality joins, it can be perceived as a threat, which is understandable to a degree, but it felt limiting. Additionally, they mentioned that there are no immediate plans to expand the business, which suggests limited space for new joiners. I also noticed some inconsistencies in online comments, which made it hard to get a clear picture of the actual work environment. Word of mouth spreads, so our paths might cross again in the future. Overall, the process left me with the impression that the company’s culture and growth opportunities might not align with everyone’s expectations.
