I have worked in the software industry for nearly two decades. Before finding G2, it was a given that if I wanted to move up in my career, I had to change companies. Before G2, I had never been given a raise or a promotion unless I asked for it and fought for it. But with G2's low-overhead structure and responsive management team, I've had my work recognized and my salary and career level have advanced simply because management is paying attention to the good work I do and wants to reward that. There are a wide variety of projects and I've worked on a number of them, some purely positive and some more challenging, but management recognizes which ones are which and works with employees to keep them from getting burnt out on the ones with challenges.

Benefits are pretty minimal, but the cash compensation is better, so I think it all balances out. Pay is hourly, so apart from government-mandated sick leave, there's no PTO-- you have to put aside from your earnings if you want to have a vacation fund (but at least it means you get paid for any overtime).
