I got to work with A TON of different technologies, programming methodologies, and learned a lot about IoT. For any talk I was given, I was responsible for the front end, back end, integration tests, and unit tests. This was a huge plus, cause at a lot of companies' interns just learn how to do one thing really well and stick to it for the majority of their internship. I was actually working along side other veteran developers on the same problems as them, which made me feel like an essential member of the team. The environment is very friendly. The other devs on my team were always more than willing to answer any questions I had, I never felt like I was dumb or annoying for asking a question. Great long term career opportunities. GE has very good leadership programs, specifically DTLP, that interns have a great shot at getting into after they graduate. These programs open up lots of opportunities to early career advancement that would be less accessible for direct hires. Lots of free food and drinks, arcade games, ping pong, pool table, foosball, smash bros, smash bros, and smash bros.

The initial on-boarding process wasn't put together very well. A lot of interns' managers weren't properly prepared, leading to them not having anything too meaningful to do for a few days. This wasn't a problem for me, but it was a common complaint I heard from the other interns. I was told that they were well aware of this issue and are doing a lot to make sure that mangers will be prepared for the next internship cycle in Summer 2017.
