Vantaggi
Good Pay. You learn to be observant
Svantaggi
he pay is decent, but it’s not worth the toll it takes on your soul. You need incredibly thick skin just to walk through the door. The detainees will constantly test your boundaries, and if you don't learn how to say 'no' and master de-escalation quickly, you aren't going to survive. The environment is high stress every single minute, and eventually, you’ll start to feel just as trapped in there as the detainees. Seeing them mentally suffering and missing their families is genuinely depressing, and you’ll end up taking that home with you; it’s the kind of stuff that gives you nightmares. On top of that, management is extremely rigid with strict policies, and the workplace culture is toxic. Coworkers often don’t want to help, and some will even snitch on you the second you slip up. There are a lot of moving parts and it’s never boring, but the constant pressure and what you witness daily lead to massive burnout. It’s an exhausting, lonely grind, and I really wouldn't recommend it if you value your peace of mind
