Vantaggi
The people. Without a doubt, the people at GLG are bright, supportive, and amiable. They made the days bearable- many of them are new graduates/on the younger side of a corporate environment. I had a great time working with them and learning from them. The other reviews already give you an idea of what you’re doing on the job. Many of the people you speak with on the phone and recruit to GLG are awe-inspiring. I had many great conversations (sorta negatively impacted my performance since Associates need to constantly be on the move and find the right match for the project, so a call lasting more than 15 minutes will be a problem) and it made me more comfortable with the idea of networking and reaching out to a stranger. Overall, a decent first job to have out of college.
Svantaggi
The work I did felt pointless. On many days, felt like a waste of time and my talents. Just an administrative bot- something AI can replace in near-future. You need a college degree to work as an Associate- but this is work I could’ve done with a high school diploma. Also, the management at GLG make the company seem like a bigger deal than it actually is (which is probably common for a lot of companies tbh because they need to increase morale or whatever)- but in reality, there are several other companies that do the same thing and pay their employees more. Also, constant change. Some of it, unnecessary. When I joined, there was a change in leadership and some structure. When I left, there was major change in how the promotion path worked for new employees (they made it far more confusing- went from Associates to Senior Associate to Research Manager to just Associate, with no distinction on seniority or compensation).
