- Intern conference in Chicago was a good experience - Good way to look at the insurance industry from the brokerage perspective - I got to meet Pat Gallagher (CEO) at the intern conference. He is a very interesting person who had great advice and who I believe truly wants the best for his employees.

I think my cons have to do more with the insurance industry/culture itself than Gallagher specifically. The industry seems to foster a certain culture of that I can't really put my finger on.. the only thing I can think to say is that there seems to be a lot of snootiness and unhappiness. There were a few times coworkers would take me out to lunch and openly trash the company/management etc in front of me - and I was an intern! It was just a weird environment.

Great work-life balance as a remote employee. Management is approachable and genuinely willing to help when it comes to workload — you never feel like you're on your own.

Mentorship is largely self-driven. if you don't seek it out yourself, it won't come to you. Systems and internal processes can be slow and tedious, which adds friction to an already fast-paced workload. Compensation does not reflect the complexity or volume of work expected. High performers who are ready for the next step would benefit from clearer, more proactive promotion paths. When that structure is missing, talented people disengage quietly long before they ever leave.
