First, thank you for taking time to write your opinion. I really appreciate it, even though your experience here was is as great as I would like it to be.
Your feedback (as well as several other people sharing similar thoughts on Glassdoor) was used to address problems, where we apparently needed to improve. On this occasion I wanted to give a few comments from my side. I founded GameDesire (then Ganymede) 15 years ago, and each and every success we achieved was only thanks to the creativity, expertise and hard work of the people I had the honor to work with.
As in any software company, people are the only important asset, thus having my team happy, well-motivated and paid according to market standards was (and is) most important to me. I was striving to create an attractive work environment I believe we were going in the right direction (at least until recently), as the employee attrition rate is significantly below market standards and many people stay with GameDesire for years.
In the last 18 months there were many changes in the company: we got the investor, we started to develop games for new platforms in new technologies and we have doubled the number of employees reaching almost 100 people.
The scale of changes might have overwhelmed us and we were not able to manage everything as well as in the past, but believe me, my priorities have not changed and I will do my best to fix everything that does not work as great as I imagine. As a side note I must say that I regret you did not take any of the channels to share your feedback inside the company.
There are many of them, including (but not limited to): your manager, HR lead known for her focus on solving employee problems, employee council (rada pracownicza), scrum masters, fortnightly team reviews (which I always attend), occasional all hands meetings or team/company getaways. Last, but not least, my door is always open and everybody is welcome to come and discuss any issues currently receive a lot of feedback through these channels which later is used to improve the organization and employee experience.
I wish you all the success in your future career, and better time in GameDesire (if you are still with us). Hopefully, the experience you had at GameDesire will help you in your future roles. Kind Regards, Marek Wylon GameDesire Founder and CEO.
