AMETEK or GATAN (SAME) Warrendale, Pa. JUST MOVE ON! Toxic Atmosphere Within! You don’t deserve what I go thru each day.. Move on! This is all Departments. Believe me. Actual Job Description says: “Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations.” FIRST WARNING RIGHT THERE! Honestly if you care, about a friend, wife, relative, YOURSELF, PLEASE DON’T WORK HERE. What you will see and be subjected to in this building, YOU CAN’T “Un-See,” what you will witness. This company takes pride in making every effort to make sure you understand your nothing, no worth, they will not hide it either. Management takes pride in making you feel you are doing your job wrong, every day! Don’t take the job! You will find yourself saying, “It can’t be this bad.” Or “It will be ok, Can’t be like this every day?” EVERYDAY! You haven’t never experienced watching confident, professional women crying in the bathroom stall, running to their car in tears, the fear they show, I witnessed this multiple times (more than 5 times.) No ACCOUNTABILITY for management ACTIONS taken on employees, EVER! Some Management that has been there multiple DECADES, SAME POSITIONS! Management been educated in the Gatan way there whole life, instructed that is it is ok to bully employees. They wrote the book on Micro Managing! Management hates each other, until they need each other, so you have No communication anywhere. NO Accountability allows managers to “MENTAL BULLY” everyone! Management has held the same position over many DECADES with Narcissistic Tendencies, they get people to quit, then hire with Nepotism. They PUSH very experienced employees OUT, hire higher paid “buddies” with no background. Expect other employees to “pick up” there “buddies” ignorance, as managers make their Buddies look great to the company, without any shame. Without Accountability, you will not be able to do your job correctly. They will hurt you. You will suffer P.T.S.D. from working here! Management beats the best employees down in yearly reviews, so they don’t feel they are worth raises. Pay Raise Adjustments are still back in 1970’s amounts, if you get one. If you do more work, you will be assigned ALL THE WORK, You will be hated, till you QUIT, then they will hate you, why? Because you were the problem. Employees are leaving all around us, Please do not allow yourself or someone you care for to accept this very destructive lifestyle. Don’t get caught up in the “it will get better.” Gatan will NEVER CHANGE! It will make it hard for you to interview with the Gatan Culture STAYING in your HEAD! You can’t fix this company, they don’t want it fixed. MOVE ON IN YOUR SEARCH! THESE FACTS SAY, CONTINUE YOUR JOB SEARCH ELSEWHERE!

The work can be interesting.

Abuse is tolerated if not encouraged. Culture is dominated by tenured employees who perceive new employees as threats and conspire to make you miserable. Everyone is somebody’s son. Nobody is anybody’s daughter to my knowledge. Sons play into the “us vs. them” mentality. You have either worked there forever or your father did or you are nobody. Tenured employees will bully and threaten you. Workplace violence is commonplace (REAL threats of violence not “silence is violence”) Management is in constant panic mode. First instinct is to panic, second instance is to blame. You can’t warn anybody about a problem, they will perceive it as a sleight. Then they will the insist you do something blatantly unethical to address the problem they created and you warned them about.
