Working at GAVIN was a challenging and disappointing experience. While I initially had high hopes for a rewarding and fulfilling career, the reality of the work environment was far from satisfactory. My review is based on the following key aspects that have significantly impacted my overall job satisfaction: 1. Micromanagement by Senior Leadership: One of the most disheartening aspects of working at GAVIN was the excessive micromanagement from senior leadership. Instead of fostering an environment of trust and autonomy, my superior consistently scrutinized every aspect of my work, leaving little room for creativity and individual growth. This micromanagement not only hinders professional development but also creates an atmosphere of constant anxiety and fear of making any mistake. 2. Negative Gossip: Senior leadership's habit of talking negatively about other coworkers in front of their peers is both unprofessional and demoralizing (even if the door is shut, we hear you). 3. Undermining Job Confidence: I constantly felt undermined and undervalued in my role. The lack of support and encouragement from leadership made it incredibly challenging to feel confident performing my duties effectively. This constant doubt and fear of not meeting expectations negatively impact my productivity and overall job satisfaction. 4. Social Isolation and Elitist Mentality: Although GAVIN promotes “We Culture,” the expectation to "earn my stripes" before socializing with other workers has made it incredibly difficult to integrate into the company's social fabric. This elitist mentality promotes a sense of exclusion and isolation, which further perpetuates a divisive work environment. 5. Excessive Workload, Unequal Treatment and Misleading Promotions: Despite the inadequate compensation, you are constantly burdened with an overwhelming number of accounts to handle. I also witnessed someone receive multiple promotions with less than one year at the company and while on maternity leave for most of it, while others received a pat on the back.
