I do not believe I have ever had the pleasure of working for a more dysfunctional company. Work culture is toxic unless you are part of a select few that know how to play the game. The job offer they made me sounded very promising, but I found out shortly after being hired, that I was the 4th person in my position in a 3 year period, and it did not take long to figure out why. There are no standards, training, work instructions, or reference materials for the machines you are supposed to just know in a very niche market. It is no surprise the company has went through multiple bankruptcies, and seeing the quality that comes out of that place, I suspect they will be bankrupt again in no time. These machines are near impossible to service without the support of Germany, in which there is little to no support. Customers are constantly angry about cost and wait time on parts, you are just supposed to grin and bear it. Part of my job was visiting with customers to find areas where we could improve. Each visit involved listening to customers complain about how we failed in the past, or failing currently, and me bringing this information to the sales and aftermarket team, only to be completely ignored. They are losing customers by the day, and they wonder why, but love to point fingers at everyone but themselves. There is zero sense of teamwork in the building, and instead a company hierarchy is expected by the president. People in the shop are considered lesser humans, even though they are the only ones that care about quality and make the company any money. Aftermarket is another class, as well as engineers and management. I was encouraged not to associate with people in the shop and office if I wanted to be management. I was also reprimanded for keeping my hands in my pockets... The final straw for me is when they decided to give every one in the company raises, regardless of goals or performance, but then the president decided he was angry with a select few, and retracted ALL raises. I am not sure if he knew that HR had already put the raises into the electronic payroll system and then retracted it, but it made for an entire building of disgruntled employees all because of one temper tantrum of the president.
