Genentech is a great company in so many ways - excellent benefits, strong vision. There are many incredibly bright people who work at Genentech and almost everyone I know is extremely proud to work for this company. There is challenging work and something new comes up almost every day.

There is simply not enough people to do the work that we are required to do - budgets simply do not support it. Yes my department has implemented many 'smart strategies' to 'work smarter and not harder' - but these strategies have not reduced overall workload and we are working longer hours than ever. The department I manage has been at a breaking point for a long time and I thank my stars everyday when I come in and find that no one has quit or has gone off on stress that day. At this point I could not recommend this company to a friend.
