Vantaggi
Coworkers are great, PUL's are attentive, benefits, work life balance(most of the time)
Svantaggi
High risk but low reward, pay doesn't meet industry standards. Since the "Transformation" process where they axed at least 75 people, things have gone down hill. They "got rid of supervisors" to give technicians more process ownership. Well, they just changed their title to PUL and doubled or in some cases, tripled their work load. Some are responsible for multiple departments and over 30 people. I never get 1:1 meetings or responses to texts/emails because they're so dangerously over worked. A lot of the talent left when the transformation was announced. They received letters to inform them that their roles were being eliminated but were "invited" to apply for new roles. All while being expected to work the following 2 months with a smile knowing you're being cut and are not valued. Half the supes, many MANY technicians and 75% of managers, after giving 10-20+ years were just thrown away like trash while they build two new buildings and buy 250k dollar security robots that stay parked. All to " reduce societal cost" last time I checked, gene employees are members of society. They had families and mortgages. Anything to save a buck. Genentech doesn't care about society, nope...the Roche group only cares about money. Which is why they routinely cut employees and don't pay industry standards. As soon as I can I'm jumping ship. Ever since Roche bought us out it's become less and less human. They even fired long time respected HR members. HR presence since the transformation is abysmal. Genentech is going south fast. They don't care about people anymore. Individual managers or PULs might but this company is demanding more production for the same pay and less respect.
