Svantaggi
I think a lot of people come here from other industries and get a culture shock. Generally speaking: nothing is done "best-in-class" at Generac, meaning you can put the best solution on the table and everyone in the room knows it's the best solution. Then you look at the price tag and shrink away, because you know the executives aren't going for it, so why even try. A lot of things are solved with "lets do it ourselves...how hard can it be...why do we have to pay someone else to do it?" So we do things ourselves and they come out half-cocked, because...we never did it before and we get some solution that sort of works...FOR TODAY. During first few years of my employ, I made suggestions about implementing certain things that a normal company would (I'm being intentionally vague here so I don't give my position away) and it went no where. Even my director recognized some things needed improving, presented a case to the higher ups and was told "I don't see a problem: come back when there actually is one I can see". I'm now basically complacent and just do the status quo of whatever the company wants me to do. If you are looking to "change the world", it likely won't happen here.
