Vantaggi

Nice offices and free coffee. Ability to take classes/workshops/courses for free. GA used to be an amazing place to work with really smart, motivated people focused on changing lives. Excellent benefits

Svantaggi

The experiences that you have at will largely depend on what part of the business you are in. If you are on the "campus" side of the business (you directly interface with students) you're going to have a bad time. GA has raised way too much money and has incredibly aggressive goals to hit. As such, the focus on quality and delivering on our promises has nosedived as the C-suite scrambles to make a return for their investors. Pay is very low on the campus side and hours can be tough. With "admissions" (AKA sales) compensation stemming from the number of students they can enroll, GA is rapidly approaching Trump University levels of moral ambiguity. HR is extremely involved in everything, (more so than anywhere else I've ever worked) and unfortunately they're largely incompetent. Young, inexperienced managers and no real upward growth on most teams.

Vantaggi

General Assembly is a great place to work where you can be proud of the work and impact you have on the org and clients. If you get out of your workaholic mode, you can take advantage of the flexible PTO and the culture of understanding where you are expected to put forth 100% but also take time for yourself and your family. No one abuses that and there is trust in folks getting their work done and supporting one another.

Svantaggi

If you are ok with staying in one role for a long time, this is your spot. I think that due to the pandemic and the economy, there is limited mobility. However, you can try to work or use skills on other teams to diversify your professional portfolio if possible. But raises and bonuses fall short.
