Culture - mgmt. rules by fear. Upper mgmt. only manages 1 level down and does not really understand what is going on. The company has forced out all leaders and has kept only managers. Promotion in this company is by who you know. You have to be part of the club. The only thing that matters at this site is production, production, production. They will tell you how well they have done on their safety journey, but it is all a ruse. Employee's will not talk about injuries and try to hide them out of fear. If you are injured they will investigate, and the principle motive is to pin it on the individual and see if there is enough cause to terminate. Training is non-existent. Individuals are just thrown in to a situation and expected to perform at a high level. Many have had no training in the area where they are working. When an isolation violation occurs they will focus on that person not following the "rules" and nothing on the situation of forcing an individual into an unsafe situation. Nepotism is rampant throughout this organization. If you are a family member of HR, or Sr. Mgmt, you will always have a job here regardless of your qualifications. In fact, the only qualification that is needed is that you are family. The HR department is full of individuals who are not HR professionals. Only a couple of people are trained in the HR profession and the rest are nothing but admin clerical staff. Literally the majority of the HR staff members were admin clerks before being promoted to HR and have no training in this field. Before joining this company do your research. There is a reason why this company has the highest turnover rate on the Trona patch.

There are good people that work there. They try to do what is right, but upper mgmt will stop them if they do not toe the company line. Production is King. Employees are treated as a commodity and are easily replaced. Genesis leadership has destroyed this company and has now made the site the highest cost producer on the trona patch
