Vantaggi
I honestly wish I had at least one good thing to say here.
Svantaggi
Geospace is by far the worst company to ever work for, and that's putting it mildly. Avoid this place. It isn't worth the time and effort to apply here. Your intelligence alone can make you a target because you will begin to ask questions that Management and Human Resources will find offensive and threatening. Management and Human Resources constantly pretend to have no idea of the racial issues and blatantly negative management style they've fostered and perpetuate within the company, and would rather shift their blame and their mistakes away from themselves and on to who they recognize as lower level staff, especially in situations when they themselves know fully well they are the ones accountable. No one like to pull their own weight here. People who have came here to work, from Planners, Temps, Engineers to warehouse Supervisors have all quit because of these issues and the disarray of the company as a whole. Management know very well of the issues within the company, yet refuse to do anything to make things right. Employees are quickly blamed for any mistakes in their work and threatened with their jobs, even if the mistake is not a direct result of their doing. The emphasis here is that you're never praised on a job well done. The attention is only on what you do wrong. I can't stress this enough: Any mistake you make no matter how small is treated as a cardinal sin. Staff are constantly overlooked for raises, and should a raise actually be given, is it extremely small and rare despite a good evaluation. Staff are not valued as equally intelligent human beings, and are instead looked down on as disposable, unworthy and subhuman. THIS IS THE ONLY COMPANY IN THE ENERGY SECTOR THAT PAYS NEAR MINIMUM WAGE. Departments like Geophone and Mold Shop hosts mostly foreigners on work visas and are treated almost like sweat shops. When the company isn't partnered with another company on a major contract, Geospace becomes an unofficial Temporary Agency. Lay-offs become frequent. The company is completely unorganized and visually cluttered. Work environments are plagued with internal ongoing issues that never seem to find resolve, and knowingly retains employees with track records in acts of hostility and highly aggressive attitude issues towards other coworkers, and has knowingly hired a manager with this same type of approach and history as well, that has no logistical experience, and uses displays of anger to communicate. This company, whether they want to realize it or not, have created, and continue to create, employment conditions that can (and have) result in legal action against them. Harassment is an extremely big issue here. So if you've never heard of Geospace Technologies until now, there's definitely a good reason as to why. You've just read it.
