They have a small team that work very hard, but they do not value their employees. This is evident by: -The way they allow customers to treat staff -The lack of support during escalations Leadership will often opt to take a “customer is always right” approach which is more harmful than helpful as it doesn’t reinforce policies, procedures or customer responsibilities and often sets a precedent that leads to perpetual bad behaviour and inaccurate expectations from customers. -The lack of prioritization for improvements and tools that the CS/ PS team need to do their job efficiently -The lack of personnel skills and care from HR -Employees have to beg to take their vacation days that they’re entitled to and blackout periods are often set for blocks of months. This is especially difficult as the job is extremely mentally draining and manual which leads to burnout that requires recharge -The choices to promote people to leadership who are not fit to lead -They host a Christmas event in Toronto each year, though at least 20% of the staff are not based there thus cannot attend and nothing is done for them in lieu -They laid off staff a couple times and did nothing to compensate the remaining staff for the additional load that they had to handle -There is little to no room for promotion but they will give or offer staff additional work and responsibilities for no additional pay or incentive. As it is a start up company and remote environment the low compensation could be overlooked if they were providing value in other ways. In the absence of this, the job is just miserable.
