Some great people at the lower to mid levels who are always willing to help out a fellow colleague. Reasonable sales goals that are attainable.

Gimbal has an extremely defensive culture. A culture where no one wants to admit when they are wrong. This is a top down problem that is bleeding to other parts of the organization. Majority of our leadership team is out of touch with the organization, a true 'boys club' and with exception of our CRO, they keep their blinders on until it is absolutely no longer possible. People have titles that they don't deserve, because the leadership team is barely visible in HQ and uninvolved in the day to day. COVID 19 is clearly having a devastating impact on the economy, but I was not prepared for how Gimbal would handle it. The first week the stock market began to be severely impacted by COVID 19, our CEO and the leadership quickly began layoffs & furloughing employees. The first week. We were all so shocked . We went from being told how healthy the company was to this in a matter of weeks. It showed us all how dispensable we all really are. I understand terrible and difficult decisions have to be made in times of crisis, but it was how the news was communicated to the rest of the company that was shocking. The CEO began the presentation (about the layoffs/furloughs) with a quote from Ghandi. Along the lines of health being the real wealth and not silver. This is WITH the people who had been furloughed on the phone. Yes, health is important, but these people have bills to pay. He then proceeded to put up a slide with the names of those who were fired/furloughed. Again, with the people who were furloughed on the line. Where is the compassion? I am one of the lucky ones who still have a job, but I am so rattled by how this entire situation was handled. The way leaders show up in crisis shows their character. I believe Gimbal has the potential to be a great company, but I am not sure how that will happen with the existing leadership team in place.

Thank you for your feedback, and I’d like to be the first to apologize for actions that may have made you feel dispensable. Our employees are the most valuable asset we have, and although furloughs/layoffs became unavoidable due to COVID-19’s effect on the economy, I want to highlight that we all took salary cuts (with the highest at the executive level) in order to keep those numbers low. We took these actions quickly in order to avoid greater repercussions in the long term. I will definitely keep your comments regarding our communication top of mind as we continue to navigate this. There is certainly a fine line between trying to maintain transparency in an organization as small as ours and trying to be respectful of each employee’s privacy. All those affected by furloughs/layoffs were personally communicated with prior to any kind of company-wide announcement. I hope you’ll stick with us through this difficult patch as your insight and contributions are essential to what we do here.
