5yThank you for your feedback, and I’d like to be the first to apologize for actions that may have made you feel dispensable. Our employees are the most valuable asset we have, and although furloughs/layoffs became unavoidable due to COVID-19’s effect on the economy, I want to highlight that we all took salary cuts (with the highest at the executive level) in order to keep those numbers low.
We took these actions quickly in order to avoid greater repercussions in the long term. I will definitely keep your comments regarding our communication top of mind as we continue to navigate this. There is certainly a fine line between trying to maintain transparency in an organization as small as ours and trying to be respectful of each employee’s privacy.
All those affected by furloughs/layoffs were personally communicated with prior to any kind of company-wide announcement. I hope you’ll stick with us through this difficult patch as your insight and contributions are essential to what we do here.
