I don't know where to begin with the terrible experience I had working for this company. I'll list everything as simple, and clearly, as possible. I really hope sharing my experience helps others. * Managers and supervisors are extremely underdeveloped and have absolutely no leadership skills. There is only one manager and one supervisor that care about their people. All the other managers/supervisors show absolutely no type of concern for their employees. * Plant director leads the plant but spends zero time out on the production floor. In the many years I was with the company, I can probably count on one hand how many times I saw the plant director go out on the plant floor. The previous director we had was always visiting the floor and talking with the individuals who work in the plant. * If you are good at your job, you will not get moved up. The only way to move up is to kiss up, or have intimate relationships, with management. Do not expect your hard work to be enough to move up. Not only do you get held back, but you also get the privilege of helping train your new supervisors/managers. Oh, also expect to back up your supervisors/managers because they don't back each other up. Don't forget, just because you back them up and help train them, doesn't mean you will ever get moved up to supervisor without having to kiss up or be intimate with them. * Supervisors/managers have intimate relationships with employees. I witnessed someone get promoted into a higher role simply because they were sleeping with a supervisor. They were caught together during work hours, but people choose to turn a blind eye. These kinds of relationships happen all the time and no one does anything. Even if you let HR know, they protect the company and do nothing. We had one individual apply for a position that had 8, or more, years of experience with the company and knew several different parts of the business and they went up against someone who was with the company for 2 years. Can you guess who got the position? The person with 2 years because they were having relationship with one of the supervisors. What did HR do? Absolutely nothing. Even after this was communicated to them. All the proof was on paper. All they had to do was compare the resume of the person with 2 years' experience to the resumes of the more qualified candidates who applied and that was enough to know something wasn't adding up. * Supervisors/managers are guaranteed to be working 10-to-12-hour days and take no lunches. You rarely have contact with the management team because they keep themselves segregated in a different part of the building. 90% of the management team sits on the north side of the building and their direct reports sit in a different part of the building. Have you ever worked at a company that goes out of their way to separate management from non-management? At all my previous place of employment, management almost always sits with/near their team. * Many departments are overworked and understaffed so you must work extended hours. Do not expect a work/life balance because that does not exist here. These extended hours are never appreciated by management. I worked 10-to-12-hour days for an extended period. One day I decided to work my 8 hours and go home because I was drained. The next day I got pulled into the office by my manager and asked why I left "early". Since when was working your 8-hour shift considered leaving "early"? Overall, I would never recommend anyone to come work for this company unless you are applying to work for the one manager, one supervisor, that are well developed.
