Appalling company, avoid - Recensione dipendente - Dipendente anonimo presso Go Train

Everything. Staff are overworked and underpaid. The courses taught are not fit for purpose and contribute little in real terms towards ensuring learners' increase their employability. Spurious claims are made regarding learners helped back into work but I have seen learners gain employment entirely separately from Go Train's best "efforts" that were claimed as a "progression" (Go Train term for a learner helped into employment). Facilities are dire to the point of being a health and safety risk and in need of renovation. There is an horrific culture of bullying in the business that starts with management and extends throughout the company. Individual employees are singled out for the most spurious of reasons and their lives made a misery because they do not, or are not allowed, to fit in with the main clique. Its like a schoolyard, if not worse. That person will then face ostracization by colleagues and be given all the unpleasant and difficult tasks by management until they feel they have no option but to leave. I have also witnessed some of the most unprofessional attitudes and behaviour in my working life. I have seen learners imitated and made fun of behind their backs around aspects of behaviour, communication etc. that are blatantly the result of learning difficulties or mental health problems. I have seen learners lured onto courses with the promise of a guaranteed interview only to find that "interview" is with a Go Train employee and merely there to progress them through to the next stage of the selection process, the next stage composed of a work trial where the learners work for a company for two or three days only to be told there is no job for them. Go Train in the meantime gets paid, the company gets free labour and the Jobcentre that sent the learners to Go Train gets to massage its figures. How this company remains in business I'll never know, and why Jobcentres continue to do business with them is a mystery. Never, ever, regardless of how desperate you are for a wage, contemplate ever working for this company.
