I have never quite worked in an Environment like Goosehead. This is the first job I’ve had where my coworkers and leaders are fantastic. I have not ever had an issue with them and it’s a very team oriented approach. Communication with managers is definitely easier than what I am used to. The benefits are definitely a pro, insurance is a must. I think one of the best pros of working here is the skill set that you build.my managers have been phenomenal and the training process was inclusive. There’s a lot of changes but they’re usually good changes.

Oh boy, I hate listing cons but there are a few. I feel like the compensation could be better for what we do. At Goosehead we work with tons of carriers and have to pay way more attention to detail than most. I think the compensation for the kind of work we do should be better compared to other agencies and competitors considering our base of clients. Another complaint I have is the lack of work life balance. The company encourages us to leave teams off our personal devices and not take work home with us, but there are times where I have to. For example, I have had to complete setting logins up and training on my own time outside of work. I also feel like 6 sick days is NOT enough. When you’ve exhausted sick time, you get points added to your file and your vacation days are taken in lieu of sick time. This poses an issue for parents with children, and also employees who need to go to the doctor a bit or have chronic conditions. It can feel smothering at times in this regard. Another point in work/life balance is that pretty often we have to stay after our time to leave to complete however many calls are needed to get the queue down. This is frustrating because even though I should leave at 5, there have been times I haven’t left until past 6. This isn’t something that was made aware of when signing on.

Great people to work with. Coworkers turned true friends. The role is very dynamic. You will never be bored.

I could say many things but I’ll summarize with these points: Job stability feels very low and very high at the same time. You perform well (which is very difficult in a Texas market without selling a bit of your soul at least) you can do whatever. I mean whatever. Yet, in a given year your role, your pay, your manager, your office location, and your daily expectations will probably change. Hope you can keep up! If you can’t, better tell all the family that are now Goosehead clients because you had to pass training somehow. You could be successful in this role. I’d say 9/10 people aren’t but you could be the 10%. For the rest of us, it’s a stepping stone job that pays the bills. You’ll survive your year contract so you don’t pay 10k back to this company. Somehow you will. At what cost? Stay tuned.
