      The CTO who is 6 years out of college and never managed before has very unrealistic and inconsistent expectations. He praises you one week for meeting his extremely aggressive demands and then disparages you the next week as being too slow and claiming his earlier praise didn't count. This has led to severe turnover in the engineering department as well as extremely slow hiring and understaffing.

      We operate with a deliberately high bar for performance, speed, and ownership. Direct feedback is given frequently and we move fast. This environment works very well for some people and is not the right fit for everyone. As a result, we have intentionally parted ways with some early members of our engineering team who were not aligned with our pace or expectations. We are cautious about hiring because building the right culture early matters more to us than growing headcount quickly. We believe GovWell is a generational opportunity to transform the way that government works in the United States for the better. We will only achieve this goal by creating an exceptional product and keeping our engineering team lean, quick, and talent-dense.

Collaboration is amazing across the entire team - Approachable leadership who regularly provides clear communication about plans/roadmaps. Leadership also is open to feedback, requesting it from the team - Very strong focus on making clients happy with empathy, care and human connection - client satisfaction is king in GovWell and that is achieved by genuinely caring about their needs! - Become part of an exciting company in its early stages and contribute to it's growth! Overall, I'm very very happy with my time at GovWell and very excited about continuing to be a part of this journey

      It's a startup that is rapidly expanding and that means you will likely have to wear a few different hats and work harder and faster to meet the pace of a rapidly growing startup! May not be for everyone
