Vantaggi

Moving to recent technologies. Lots of smart people in leadership and other groups but the cliquish behaviour(see cons) is worrying. There’s huge potential for growth in the industry and for individuals who can work beyond the Cons. SF Office atmosphere is great. Most of the sf crowd is less than 1.5 years at work. Well stocked kitchen and 3 times a week catered lunches. Front office, sf Office and facilities are great.

Svantaggi

Too much tech Debt and poor architecture and shifting priorities stems from moving faster. Power play at work. Iowa is the center of engineering now. It’s a bit cliquish especially in leadership circles - decisions made with ‘you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours’ attitude. Leaders who have access to Senior leadership, go behind backs of peers creating an ‘always be alert’ environment. Well meant projects have been canned without much accountability. Compensation is not very competitive in the Bay Area. Benefits are okay and there are no stock options/ESPP. Not a startup. Company is becoming very corporate like - a lot of structure, reviews in place. Understandable given product and engineering team is upwards of 250. It’s a BIG company now.

Vantaggi

The pros are that the people you work with on a day-to-day basis are incredible, caring, positive, and will do their best to motivate you in any way.

Svantaggi

The cons were that leadership was difficult to pin down, change management with M&A made things impossible to predict, and expectations were not clearly stated.
