The company top to bottom is stuck in 1993, because that's, not kidding, when all the software they use was created. They treat their internal tools like they're the best thing to ever happen not realizing every company is using cloud software that does 30 times what theirs does. The company is incredibly cheap and out of touch with modern businesses. I had to fight for any kind of online advertising budget and even then it was not nearly enough to hit any modern goals, but then I would get yelled at for the numbers not being high enough. Social media takes a complete backseat despite being a gift retailer. Google AdWords same thing. It's only the biggest search engine on the planet. They expect money to just magically appear without spending any and it's on you for that not happening. Everybody works under the CEO, which leads to situations where co-workers act like they're your friend and then stab you in the back to get ahead. The company pretends to be collaborative but it's the CEO's way or the highway. i made suggestions multiple times to improve campaigns and was instead yelled at because they weren't approved by him. If that doesn't make sense, you're exactly right. I was essentially getting paid to click buttons instead of improve their business and enjoy using my career skills. They cut corners everywhere they can as the CEO pulls up in a Porsche. There is zero work-from-home policy despite it being 2015 and you are forced to use your personal time even though your whole job will be done on a computer. This goes for snow as well.
