The project I was associated with was one of the worst one. Here HR and management were working with hands in glove. On top of that the policy of there salary component is not clear. Even after working with the company for two years exact I am asked to pay something to get my reliving letter. Though in the offer letter it was no were mentioned such a clause. Seems before joining a company you have to ask now a days what is your policy when a person is leaving.
