Vantaggi
- HCL still has a good brand value in the market. - Salary always on time. - Free cab for Infra employees for Jigani (Bangalore) campus. - Big campus (Jigani) with good facilities.
Svantaggi
- The worst company in terms of policies. Not even a single policy is favorable to employees. - The worst basic salary in the entire infustry. Your basic will be just 20% of your total salary. Since basic is that low, every other components will automatically be less. - The worst appraisal policy in the industry. Even if you achieve A (highest) rating, you will not get more than 5-6% appraisal. If you got B rating then you will not get increased salary for first three months. If you get C rating (where 90% emoloyees fall), you will not get increased salary for firat six months. I have never seen such cheating in my entire career. - The worst onsite policy in the industry. If you are going onsite even for one month, they will transfer your payroll to that company. Because of that, you will not get your India salary for that period and you have to write to PF office for that month PF exemptions. Also HCL will not provide you any kind of accommodation or any other allowance there. Not even for a single lady. Also you will not getting paid the full advance, remaining amount you will get when you come back. Now just imagine how will you survive there without enough money and any accommodation. I have denied a short term onsite opportunity because of such crap policy. - Government allows 88% of your basic as/for VPF but HCL allows only 8% as VPF for HCL Tech employee. For HCL BServe and HCL Infrastructure Division, they are allowing full 88% VPF but not fot HCL Tech. This is clear violation of government rule. - When you ask for shift allowance, they will say you are Infra employee hence we can't give you. When you ask 88% VPF, they will say you are Tech emoloyee hence we can't give. Means, according to their convenience they will mold the policy. How can you be a Tech and Infra employee at the same time? - Surprisingly a big company like HCL is not providing a basic component like NPS (National Pension Scheme). It's a government policy and even small companies provide that. - Very high variable amount. There will be monthly and annual variable and you will certainly not get full variable amount. Whenever you will leave the company, be ready to sacrifice your entire variable amount. - Consider your salary is the only amount you will get in the company, that is also without variable. - No shift allowance for Infra employees. Not even on call allowance. HCL says your shift and on call allowance is part of your CTC. I have never see such stupid thing in any company. - HR is just for namesake. No one from HR will reply your call or mail. So if you are facing some issue in the company, better used to it instead trying to reach HR. - Your laptop sr. no. will be checked each and every time you come to or leave from office. I mean every time. This is really frustrating. - They have HungerBox for cafeteria, which I personally don't like. - They have recently inroduced Routematic for HCL transport which made the transport like hell. - You will never get a proper resolution if you are raising any service ticket (SSD). - If you want to come to office in off hours, you need a written permission before that. - 3 months notice period. - As you resign, HCL will hold your current month salary. So be prepared financially before resigning as you are not going to get that month salary. However you will get next two months salary. - They will not release you even 1 day before. I had 3 comp offs and I was ready to sacrifice them. But they didn't let me go even 1 day before. - Getting clearance after resignation is a pain in HCL. There is no auto approval syatem for anything. Means if your manager will not approve your resignation for 90 days, that will not be auto approve and you will not get any receiving or experience letter. You literally have to chase evert department to get clearance. No one will damn care replying your mail or phone. So if you resigned, start following up from fay one.
