Decent pay, not great pay. Decent benefits. For an American hire, expect a very Indian approach to everything, including HR, benefits, travel. There are many terms in emails and the HCL Web site that I still have no understanding of their meaning but the Indian offshore/onshore folks are always polite.

Oddly cost conscious, even when the client is paying for all expenses. I have a monthly gauntlet with Indian travel, lodging teams. To book a trip it takes about 30 emails. Most offshore personnel have no concept of American HR norms, American geography and hotel prices. I have been sent to hotels where I would not leave my dog. They complain each time that they are not given enough notice on travel (like I am deciding, not the client).
