There is a very open work enviroment. Ideas can be shared openly with management and oversight. Very flexible hours. Casual dress.

Management doesnt manage. Most managers have no managerial qualifications and have no clue of management concepts and are very removed from day-to-day activities. The promotions and raises are catered to those who are willing to agree with managers at the cost of the teams success. Formerly known as Navteq, Nokia L&C went through a re-org that promoted employees based on tenure. This unfortunately meant that even if you were responsible for important project activities and were on your way for promotion, that was squashed. Since the reorganization, people who have been with the company for the longest are making way more money and still have little to no resposibilities, well others with shorter tenure but with tremendously more responsibility and experience are making exceptionally less.

Leadership is very understanding and are clear SME’s that know what their doing. There’s a learning curve that’s complex, but compensation and experience is worth the training.

Internal operations could be better, but that’s expected with any growing company.

There are no major downsides from my experience. Some processes could be improved for efficiency, but overall it’s a solid place to work.
