Svantaggi
I worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding for 16 years. In that time I saw numerous times were a person was promoted to a management position simply because they needed to diversify the management pool. I am 100% behind a diversified staff and management, but only if the person is qualified to do the job. I had terrible managers for most of my career at Ingalls because of this trend. This finally led me to leave the company after I was placed in a group under a manager that had zero management capability and really shouldn't have been in an IT role either. She second guessed everything we did to the point of hiring outside consultants to double check our work because she didn't understand what we did or what our group was supposed to produce. It was ridiculous, time consuming and wasteful. The final straw for me was when she was then promoted again to director for her amazing work that I did for her that she took credit for. This also happened more than once. I just finally had enough of other people taking credit for my work. Be careful if you work for IT at Ingalls. There is no one in management that will be on your side. They have run off the only good managers and the only ones left are only looking out for themselves.
