Some coworkers are friendly on a personal level. If you’re from the South, you may find the culture more familiar.

• Incompetent people are placed in leadership roles. • Frequent mass layoffs, even for high-performing and highly qualified employees, with excuses blamed on “the client.” • Lack of professionalism and transparency across all levels of management. • Corporate structure is weak and disorganized, with no real signs of long-term growth. • Hypocritical values — the company brands itself as religious but shows little respect or care for employees. • Culture shock if you are not from the South; very insular and unwelcoming to outsiders. • Overpromises to clients in fields they lack expertise in, takes on more than they can handle, and lets projects fail without accountability. • False sense of security — management claims to support you, but layoffs come quickly (average tenure 1–2 years).
