I recently went through a recruitment process with Hugo Boss Turkey. The first interview was conducted online with an HR specialist. I was then invited to their İzmir headquarters for a face-to-face meeting with the HR Team Lead and Talent Acquisition Lead. This required me to take time off from work and travel from another city. The overall communication during this stage was positive and professional. Shortly after, I was invited for a second in-person interview with the General Manager, which again required me to take another day off and travel. After dedicating significant time, effort, and personal resources for two in-person interviews, I received a brief, generic rejection email just a few days later, with no explanation or appreciation for my time and commitment. As a globally recognized employer brand, I expected Hugo Boss to show more care and respect toward candidate experience. A short explanation for the rejection and a simple thank-you for the candidate’s effort would have been a minimum courtesy — especially after multiple rounds of in-person interviews.
