Working at Hanjin Logistics (aka Hanjin Intermodal USA) might give you a first taste of what it's like to work in the logistics industry in the day-to-day operations, but that's about it. At best an average (but probably sub-par) opportunity to get your foot in the door in the industry.

Hanjin Logistics is nominally part of the larger Hanjin Group, which also owns Korean Airlines, amongst other companies. But even though in reality the company is separately owned, they inherited the staid and inflexible corporate culture (mindset) from their mother company, which is based in South Korea. In short, it's: PURE. OFFICE. POLITICS. Tread carefully if you take a job with them. The 'higher-ups' (discreetly) discourage most casual interaction, because they feel that a casual environment is 'distracting' and decreases productivity. They really do expect bland, mindless drones at this Korean company. Given this ramrod stiff and oppressive social atmosphere, it's no stretch or exaggeration to say that the majority of the employees there are chronically stressed and unhappy, even depressed. Everyone is working for a paycheck and gets no enjoyment from their jobs, including middle management. Of course on top of this, you have to put up with sub-standard industry pay and salary. We're talking about 20% less than a comparable American company. My advice is to just stick it out the best you can for one year if you need a job, then start applying to other logistics companies that can provide a superior work environment.
