Vantaggi
There is no consequence for not scanning a certain amount of items per minute. Most bosses and coworkers are easy going. You are not typically held over long after your shift. Hours are good. Wages are okay and you can ask for a raise. If you ask off for a day you'll get it off. You get a bonus check every quarter for "conserving resources" or something like that. You get 10% off Harris Teeter brand items. (Nothing from the Deli though?) Also Harris Teeter Associates get a free item every week which can be nice. They're understanding of transportation issues and considerate of winter weather.
Svantaggi
Sunday's are just brutal. There are no baggers. Ever. Frequently asked to help out with home-shop (which is not your job, and it sucks.) There is practically no penalties for no-call no-show associates which is awful if someone you work with does it frequently. Rude customers that complain about literally nothing will lead to outrageous penalties and write-ups. Schedules manage to be ridiculous every time they're posted. Frequently scheduled outside of availability without being checked with first. Then you get fussed at when you try to fix it. High turnover rate. Bosses do not care whether you get your break or not. If you're part time they'll make sure to schedule you just under the amount of time it takes to get a lunch. They're single 15 minute break isn't long enough, and they fuss at you if it's even a minute longer.
