Vantaggi
At one time HMS was an excellent place to work. The culture was smart, pleasant, and team oriented. The staff was universally brilliant and cohesive. Collaborative learning was highly valued and communication was organic. Management Appreciated this and those that made it work.
Svantaggi
Since sold in 2008, the current(largely new) management decided that it was time to abort the start up culture, and become a Big Business. They succeeded in murdering the culture and installing a hostile, volatile environment while muddling progress in applications and worker growth. Outsourcing efforts have continued to be costly failures, both financially and in terms of the resulting attrition of talent. Benefits have dwindled, 401k matching is 'best effort' only. Healthcare is focused on cost, not 'ability to maintain life'. Upper management seems to view HMS as a government contract with unending funding and no requirements to produce, a cache of money to be drawn personally. What little is produced is produced without any attention to honesty or legality.
