Management lives by the "work harder, not smarter" philosophy. Demands of extra hours for months are not unheard of. No room for career advancement unless you're part of the good ole boy network. New jobs are often not posted and given directly to pals. Incompetence in higher management is rewarded with promotions. HR views employees as easily replaceable and lowballs salary offers. Team managers are not allowed to make a difference, they just have to follow orders.
