This can mean different magazines, newspapers, TV stations, etc. Also one can work on the editorial staff, sales staff, marketing staff, etc. So there are a lot of different avenues or employees.

The entry level salaries are not that competitive. You would usually have to work in NYC which can be expensive. Your experience is totally dependent on the media outlet you work for.
